I am Barbara
Aymond Bowman, I grew up in
Evergreen on Rabbit Lane and
attended Evergreen Elementary
and graduated from BHS. After
high school, Shirley Goudeau and
I moved to New Orleans and met
up with Patsy Roy and Peggy
Terry who were already there. I
met my husband Thomas of 41
years while I was working in New
Orleans and he was waiting for
the Hospital Ship headed for
Vietnam.
After he was
discharged from the Navy we
lived in Tioga, La until 1986
when we moved to Upstate New
York, where Tom is originally
from. We now reside in a small
hamlet...Cedarville in the
beautiful Mohawk Valley. We are
approximately 200 miles from New
York City.
Tom and I have
three sons...and three lovely
daughter-in-laws. Our oldest
son, Tommy, is a department
manager in sporting goods in
Oneida Wal-Mart. Our middle
son, Todd, is the one who lives
life to the fullest and has the
broken bones to prove it
(currently recovering from a
compound fracture of his right
leg), is in construction in New
Jersey. Our youngest, Travis,
is a Tulane graduate and
received his master's degree at
SUNY-Albany, is currently
employed by the State of New
York as a Historic
Preservationist and is a
Professor of History at
Columbia-Greene Community
College.
All three our
of our sons are avid
sportsmen..guess that comes from
their Louisiana roots. We are
fortunate to have some of our
family visit us, most recently
my brother Harold and
sister-in-law Carolyn just
this July. I do not visit home
very often, but when I do I
always visit the graveyard in
Evergreen, where our parents and
many of our family members are
buried. I have fond memories
of the Church of the Little
Flower as it was a large part
of my childhood and I was
married in that beautiful
church. My e-mail address is
