Services for Willis Carter, of Morrow will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Bayou Jacque Baptist Church. Burial will be in Church of Christ Cemetery in Plaucheville under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.

Willis Carter, 73, died in Goudeau on January 5, 2009.

Survivors include his wife Janie Lachney Carter of Morrow; three daughters, Darlene Carter of Plaucheville, Vickie Guillot and Cindy Dupuis both of Cottonport; three sons, Danny Carter of Plaucheville, Russell Carter of Cottonport and Dennis Carter of Goudeau; brother, Dalton Carter of Big Cane; two sisters, Ione Doucet of Goudeau, Willomena Ruth of Dupont; two step-daughters, Kathy Dixon of Plaucheville, Kerrie Elliott of Texas; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Euell Carter, mother, Corine Meadows Carter, grandson, Dexter Carter.

Visitation will be open all night at Bayou Jacque Baptist Church from 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
