Verlie Galland Matthews

Funeral services for Verlie Galland Matthews will be at Church of the Little Flower at 10:30 AM Saturday, June  2, 2007 , Fr. Daniel Corkery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Verlie Matthews, age 72, of Evergreen, La., died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La.  She was a member of Church of the Little Flower. 

She is survived by her husband Louis Matthews of Evergreen; one daughter, Sheryl Richard of Opelousas, La.; two sons, C.J. Matthews of Evergreen, La. and Stephen Matthews of Walker, La.; one sister, Pearl Hohn of Turtle Creek, Pa.; one brother, Earl Galland of Evergreen, La. and 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.    

 Arrangements are being handled by Melancon Funeral Home, 108 N. Lexington Ave., Bunkie, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Friday, June  1, 2007 and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, June  2, 2007.
