Funeral services for Stephen “Poke” Slocum of Cottonport will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport, beginning at 10:00am, with Fr. “Raj” officiating. Visitations will take place at the Escude’ Funeral Home of Cottonport on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, beginning at 5:00pm and lasting until 10:00pm. A rosary will be cited on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm, and visitations will resume the following morning at 8:00am. Burial will take place after the funeral at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery #2. Stephen “Poke” Slocum, age 63, passed away at his home on November 1, 2009. He is preceded in death by his; parents, Ellis & Doris Slocum. He is survived by his; wife, Eleanor Slocum of Cottonport; daughter, Robin Davis of Boyce; sister, Beryl Normand of Evergreen; brother, Lacy Slocum of Eunice; step-daughters, Angela Lakvold of Baton Rouge, Gina Neck of Lake Charles; step-sons, Brett Lemoine of Monroe, Shayne Lemoine of Cottonport, Garrett Lemoine of New Orleans. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren & 9 step-grandchildren. Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude’ Funeral Home.
