Funeral services for Pleasant McCree, Jr. were at 11:00 am, Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at the Amazon Baptist Church. Burial was in the St. John Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen, LA under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie. Mr. McCree, age 59, of Houston, formerly of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 Ben Taub General Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Betty Smith of Houston; three step-children; four brothers,McElroy McCree of Virginia, Marvin McCree of Bunkie,Ellis Washington of San Antonio, TX and Felix James McCree of Mansfield; five sisters, Rose Butler of Bunkie, Willie Simon of Bunkie, Ruby Leary of Bunkie, Betty Jones of Mansfield and Patricia Lawrence of Dallas and one grandchild. Visitation was at Amazon Baptist Church from 9 am until service time on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009.
