Myrtle Gauthier
(April 10, 1925 - December 31, 2009)

 

 Services for Myrtle Marie Wilson Gauthier, age 84, of Cottonport will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 5th 2010 at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church with Father Blake Deshotel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Assumption Mausoleum, Cottonport under the direction of Escude’ Funeral Home of Cottonport.

Ms. Gauthier passed away December 31, 2009 at her residence.

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Myrtle was a native of Cottonport.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Assumption Church of Cottonport and served on the St. Mary’s Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and was a member of the St. Mary’s Church Choir.

Ms. Gauthier was preceded in death by her parents, John and Yura Wilson, brother Darryl Francois, sister Linda Vead and Husband Willard Nan Gauthier.

Those left to cherish her memory include nine children. Three Daughters, Sharlene Ford and husband Ed of Marksville, Myra Jeansonne and husband Joel of Cottonport and Lisa Blair and husband John of Carencro; six sons, Bryan Gauthier and wife Janis of Cottonport, Marvin Gauthier and wife Rose of Bunkie, Wayne Gauthier and wife Susan of Pineville, Willard Jay Gauthier, Jr. and wife Freda of Clinton, Rickey Gauthier and wife Debra of Canton, Georgia, and Mark Gauthier and wife Charlotte of Hessmer; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Escude’ Funeral Home of Cottonport (554 Front Street) on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and re-open Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
