October 27, 2008 in the Bayou Rouge
Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Adams
officiating, with arrangements under the
direction of Melancon Funeral Home,
Bunkie.
Mrs. Rhorer passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Bailey House Assisted Living. Ms. Mary was born in Winsboro, Louisiana, August 11, 1910, to Mary Sullivan Pittman and John L. Pittman.
She traveled extensively with her late husband, J.W. Rhorer and developed many lifelong friendships. She embraced new adventures throughout her life. She enjoyed playing the organ and the guitar and mastered numerous crafts.
Mary touched many lives in her 98 years and never lost her zeal for learning. An avid reader, she was continuously on the lookout for new books to broaden her horizons and she was always the trivia champ.
She was a strong willed, true Southern lady, loving neighbor, trusted friend and generous member of the community.
