LOIS SESSUMS CHEANEY
 

Funeral services for Lois Cheaney will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the parlor at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette with the Rev. Steve Horne and Bro. Luther Bernie officiating. Burial will follow in the Fountain Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Cheaney, 84, of Evergreen, formerly of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007, in Mandeville.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Cheaney; one sister, Hazel Burden; two brothers, Earl and Lewis Sessums.

Survivors include her son; Richard Cheaney and his wife Lisann of Mandeville; two daughters, Sandra Kojis and her husband Van of Bunkie, Leesa Cheaney of Rayne; five grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Zachary, Shannon, Tiffany; eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Richard Cheaney, Zach Cheaney, Van Kojis, Gary Fender, Mark Underwood, and Kevin Cagle.

To all of her family and friends she was known as "Meme". She leaves behind fond memories as she was loved by all. Although, God in his wisdom has taken her, he was merciful by not letting her suffer. She is at peace in a place where there is no sickness or sadness, just the joy of the Lord's presence. Good bye "Meme", we will always love you.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon on Wednesday at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home, 1010 Pandora St, Lafayette, LA 70506.
