Mrs. Smith was born April 29, 1932 in Hessmer. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, spending time with her family and friends but was happiest getting on her tractor or riding lawn mower cutting the grass on the land that she loved so much. The family would like to express gratitude to all of the caring doctors and nurses who helped take care of her during her illness, Hospice of Acadiana, and all the dear friends, especially Farah Guillory, Jill Blanchard, Christine Campbell, Donna Lopez, Marilyn Doucet, and Stephanie Scott, who were there for her and the family during her final days and to all the numerous family and friends who prayed for our mother during her two year battle with cancer.
