Gale Armand, 64, passed away Wednesday, December
10, after a valiant and courageous battle with
leukemia.
Gale was born in Cottonport, on January 8, 1944
and lived in Metairie with his cherished wife of
40 years, Delia (Suzie). Gale graduated from
University of Southwest Louisiana and earned his
Masters' from Loyola University. He worked for
37 years for the Jefferson Parish School Board,
predominately as a Guidance Counselor at Grace
King High School. Following retirement, Gale
volunteered with the Friends of the Jefferson
Parish Library.
Gale was pre-deceased by his parents, Verlin and
Allen Armand.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived
by his brother, Terry and wife Tina and their
two children and grandchildren; his sister,
Marleen Riché and husband Harvey; his brother,
Ronald and wife Kris and their three children;
and his sister-in-law, Connie Knight. Gale and
Dee, with their dog Mushroom, loved to travel.
The family would like to thank the Oncology
group at Ochsner Clinic together with the 11th
floor staff at Ochsner Hospital for their care
and compassion during the past difficult 18
months.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial
Service at L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home,
2929 Metairie Rd. on Sunday, December 21, 2008
at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. A
Mass will be held in Cottonport on January 10,
2009.
