Eddie Joseph Jeansonne, 61, was an avid LSU fan
and outdoorsman, although his favorite hobby was
cooking for his family and friends. A native of
Cottonport, he died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at
his home in St. Gabriel. Eddie had worked as a
consultant in oil refineries both at home and
abroad. At the time of his death, he was
employed by the Louisiana Department of
Transportation and Development. He was also a
decorated Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army.
Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on
Wednesday, Dec. 17, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Thursday
from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted
by the Rev. Michael Alello. Interment in Hope
Haven Prairieville Cemetery. Survived by two
sons, Trevar Jeansonne and girlfriend Allie
LeBlanc, and Kyle Jeansonne and wife Michelle;
grandson, Collin Jeansonne; and brothers, Ronald
Jeansonne, Gerald Mayeaux and Leslie Jeansonne.
Pallbearers will be David Gremillion, Ben
Lemoine, George Lemoine, Jeremy Easley, Chris
Mitchell and Cid Dillard. Honorary pallbearer is
Adam Gremillion. Preceded in death by his
parents, Marshall and Quinton Jeansonne. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center
Blood Bank. He always opened his door and his
heart to anyone in need. He will be sorely
missed by us all.
