Donald Anthony Scallan Sr.

Services for Donald Anthony Scallan, Sr. of Cottonport will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Plaucheville.

Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum, Plaucheville under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport.

Donald Anthony Scallan, Sr., 83, died in his residence on January 4, 2009.

Mr. Scallan owned and operated his own pharmacy in Simmesport which he later sold and opened another pharmacy in Dupont.

He is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Scallan and his parents, Bennett J. and Adelle (Gremillion) Scallan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Brassette Scallan of Cottonport, three sons, Donald Scallan, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, David Scallan of Alice, Texas, O'Keefe Scallan of Heath, Texas; daughter, Yvette Sprague of Cypress, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great-grand -children.

Visitation will be at Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and re-open Wednesday at 8 a.m. A Wake Service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m.
