Celestine Mary Armand
Descant
June 18, 1891 – November 1, 1978
 Funeral
services were held in Evergreen Thursday for Celestine
Armand Descant , 87, who expired November 1 at Bunkie
General Hospital at 2:15 A.M.
Rites were held from Melancon Funeral Home to the Church of
the Little Flower in Evergreen, with Fr. Edward Deasy
officiating. Interment was in St. Mary cemetery in
Cottonport.
She is survived by four sons, Larma and
Leo of Bunkie, Edgar of Evergreen and Pierre of New Orleans;
by six daughters, Mrs. P.E. Barron and Mrs. Roy Rabalais of
Bunkie, Mrs. Lenora Riche, Mrs. Cecelia Rachal, Mrs. Louise
Rachal, and Mrs. Elise Trump of Evergreen; and 28
grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and ten great
grandchildren.
She was a Gold Star Mother, American
Legion Aux. Dupree-Neal-Garcia Unit 126, D.A.V. Aux. Post
#47 Mansura, La., and also a member of the Evergreen Altar
Society.
