On September 27, 2009 the Little Flower Altar Society sponsored a Welcome Party for Father Bartholomew Ibe. Father Ibe, who is from Nigeria, has been in the states only three months and is adjusting to the culture of his new congregation. A meal of shrimp gumbo and sweet potatoes + desserts was provided.

Some of the gifts Father Ibe received included a large cooking pot with stirring spoons, a food processor, towels, bath matt with matching shower curtain, blender, dish towels,  cutting boards, a basket of gift cards and cash.

The event offered an opportunity for parishioners to interact with Father Ibe and provide a special welcome to him. He was overwhelmed with the generosity displayed at the event.
