The fourth annual
Festival of Quilts
will be held October
4 & 5 at the
Cottonport Museum,
208 Cottonport Ave.
Persons wishing to
enter a quilt for
display should
contact Donna Mayeux
876-3797. There is
no charge to enter.
“Last year we
displayed 75 quilts
some more than 100
years old and others
brand new. Both
hand and machine
quilted quilts are
accepted. Prizes are
awarded in all
categories.”
The Festival kicks
off early with a 5K
Run/ 2 Mile Fun
Walk. At 10 a.m.
there is a
children’s parade,
where kids ride
their bikes, trikes
or pull their wagons
around the town
square. Arts and
Crafts vendors will
be displaying their
wares just in time
for early Christmas
shopping. The Museum
opens the doors to
the show at 9 a.m.
Quilts will remain
on display through
October 24.
Admission to this
annual Museum fund
raiser is $2.00.
