The
“Make-A-Wish” Foundation provided Christian Labit,
11 year-old mended- heart patient, and his family
with a one-week trip to the Los Angeles area.
The family departed
from their home at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15,
2009 and returned 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20,
2009. Some of the sites visited included Universal
Studios, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood homes,
and last but not least Disneyland.
On Saturday, August 22,
Christian and his family traveled to the Spanish
Lake Golf Course in Cade, Louisiana to visit with
the BP Nakika Deep Water Group, who sponsored
Christian’s “Make A Wish” trip. The Labits were able
to personally thank them for sponsoring Christian’s
Hollywood vacation.

Christian had open
heart-surgery at
7 1/2 months of age in 1999.
He is the son of Sterling and Laurie Dugas Labit of
Lafayette. Christian is a 6th grader at
L. J.
Alleman Middle School;
Will is a 1st
grader at Woodvale Elementary;
and Jack is almost nine months old. Laurie is an
elementary school teacher at Woodvale and Sterling
works off-shore.
