Olympic Dreams: Move Over Shawn Johnson - Here Comes Caroline Grace Breedlove

About Evergreen

Published August 26, 2008

For the past month, many sports fans have been watching the 29th Olympiad in Beijing, China.  Shawn Johnson, gymnastics gold metal winner, stated at her closing ceremonies interview how watching the Olympics as a child motivated her desire to become a participant.

And so it is with some young Pelicans.  Caroline takes center stage with other American youngsters who are enjoying gymnastics and, perhaps have some dreams of their own.

Caroline Grace Breedlove participated in her first ever gymnastics meet on August 23, 2008 and scored big for her age group:  1st place, floor routine; 1st place, bars; 2nd place, beam; 2nd place, Overall.

Caroline is the eight year old daughter of Randy and Melissa Descant Breedlove.  Randy and Missy reside in Montgomery, AL with their four children: Cameron 10 (5th Grader), Caroline 8 (3rd Grader), Claire 6 (1st Grader), and Carson 2-months (home-schooled for now). Randy is a Youth Minister at Morningview Baptist Church and Missy is taking a break from her position as an elementary teacher.

Pelican Footnote: Missy's parents are Dale and Sandra Descant, hosts of www.Bunkie.com and www.EvergreenLa.org
