A
devoted son, and loving brother and uncle who is now in the presence of the
Lord, Darrell James Ducote passed away peacefully at University Medical Center
in Lafayette on Saturday, May 29, 2010. He was 57 years old. A native of
Avoyelles Parish and lifelong resident of the community known as Bayhills,
Darrell will be best remembered as a quiet man with a passion for farming and a
love for family, friends and God above all else. He was preceded in death by his
father, Harold Ducote, He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Ducote of
Bayhills; two sisters, Brenda Lemoine and husband, Frank, of Moreauville and
Rhonda Coco and husband, Patrick, of Bayhills; one nephew, Blake Lemoine and
son, Loki, of Lafayette and two nieces, Katie Lemoine of Moreauville and
Danyelle Coco of Bayhills. Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie
on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 5 pm - 9 pm with a Christian Wake Service at 6 pm
and on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 8 am - 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is
scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church
with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Alphonsus
Mausoleum under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie. Please view the
