Dorothy Kelley Destin
(December 24, 1923 - September 9, 2012)

Funeral services for Dorothy Kelley Destin will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at the New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mrs. Destin, age 88, of Evergreen, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 at Bayou Vista Community Care Center .

She is survived by three sons, Joe Destin, Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Evergreen, Prosper Destin and his wife, Elena, of Evergreen and Andrea Destin of Hessmer; five sisters Eugenia K. Morgan of Baton Rouge, Jessie L. Johnson of Baton Rouge, Vivian K. Robinson of Eola, Annie Bell Reynolds of Port Arthur, TX and Frankie B. Walker of Alexandria; four grandchildren Betty Wiley, Joann Destin, Michael Destin and Celestine Jones; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Robinson, Derrick R. Butler, James Morgan, Arthur Wade, Jr., George R. Kelley and Lloyd Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Destin, Jr., Prosper Destin, Andrea Destin, Michael Destin, Robert Destin and Lionel Destin.

Visitation will be at New Light Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. until service time.
