Lela Bordelon Aymond
(September 19, 1922 - August 27, 2013)

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Lela Bordelon Aymond at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 with Fr. Scott Chemino officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden Catacomb Mausoleum in Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Aymond, age 90, of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in her residence. She was a retired employee of Weill's Dept. Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dannie Aymond, Sr.; grandson, Ryan Aymond, Jr.; parents Dickens and Odelia Ducote Bordelon; brothers, Leo Bordelon, Roy Bordelon, Noland Bordelon, D.C. Bordelon, Jr., John Bordelon, Harold Bordelon, Ray Bordelon, Raymond Bordelon and Gene Bordelon and sisters, Maggie Aymond, Pearl Normand, Ollie Redmon and Odelia St. Romain.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Aymond of Bunkie; two sons, Ryan Aymond, Sr. and wife, June, of Bunkie and Dannie Aymond, Jr. of Bunkie; two sisters, Mabel Aymond of Bunkie and Dorothy Sehon and husband, Ronald, of Baton Ruge; grandson, Brent Aymond and wife, Tabatha, of Bunkie and two great grandchildren Mackenzie Aymond and Avery Aymond.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 beginning at 5 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 8 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

Pelican Note:  Lela was an Evergreen native and attended Evergreen High School.
