Dorrinne Galland

Dorrinne Galland, loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, sister, daughter, died peacefully Tuesday morning in the company of her immediate family. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ronald; her son, her mother, sister, and two adorable grandchildren. She recently moved to Wake Forest , NC to be closer to her granddaughters, Stella and Ruby. Dorrinne spent much of her life in Donaldsonville , Louisiana , where she served as Head of Reference Desk at Ascension Parish Library. "Miss Dorrinne", as she was known by all the residents of the small town, was well regarded, appreciated, and even loved by its many citizens. Miss Dorrinne was known for her ability to find just the right information to answer any question and, in some cases, completed the homework for many of the students of Donaldsonville at the Ascension Parish Library. Known for her quick wit and insight into complicated matters, Miss Dorrinne was known and appreciated by all she met, and considered a close, cherished friend to others. She was an avid and voracious reader, which advanced her level of erudition and knowledge far beyond her considerable educational achievements.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 Friday morning March 13, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens .
