Dorothy Bordelon "Dot" Sehon

(April 26, 1933 - October 25, 2013)


Dorothy Sehon, age 80 of Baton Rouge entered into eternal rest on October 25th, 2013 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

She was born April 26, 1933 in Evergreen, LA to the late Dicken and Odelia Bordelon. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers, Leo, Roy, Dick, Nolan, John, Harold, Ray, Raymond and Gene Bordelon and five sisters, Maggie Aymond, Pearl Aymond, Lela Aymond, Ollie Redmond, and Odelia St. Romain.

A devout Catholic, she was a founding member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Baton Rouge where she moved in 1955. She loved music and shared her gift of singing while directing the church choir. She was also an active member of the Ladies Altar Society. Dot was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her compassion for others. She cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Sehon, Sr. of Baton Rouge, a son, James Sehon, Jr. (Denise) of Denham Springs, LA., 3 daughters, Cindy Zandi (Bobby) of Metairie, Charlotte Sehon of Baton Rouge, Sheila Dupont of Watson, 1 sister, Mable Aymond of Bunkie, four grandchildren, Jared and Alyssa Dupont, Kameron and Zachary Zandi, one great grandson, Riley Dupont and beloved family friend, Sanaz Ijoodpay of San Antonio.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, October 28th, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on day of service. A Christian Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at Church of the Little Flower in Evergreen, LA. Interment will be at Church of the Little Flower Cemetery in Evergreen.
