Richard Joseph Milligan, Sr., 68, of Bunkie

Funeral services for Richard Milligan will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Bunkie with the Rev. LaMon Brown officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Milligan, age 68, of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Ville Platte Medical Center.

He was a loving father and husband. Richard never met a stranger. He loved fishing and hunting in his spare time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbon and Celanie Milligan; brothers, Wilfred, Albert, Harrison, and Patterson Milligan; sisters, Mildred Carmouche, Alida Lurding, Livonia Matthews, Iris Christy, and Doris Dubroc.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Bundick Milligan of Bunkie; his two sons, Richard Milligan, Jr. and wife Jody of Houma, and Shane Milligan and wife Annette of Jeanerette; his daughter, Sheila Juneau and husband Seth of Cottonport; his grandchildren, Courtney Chisum, Tracy and Tony Milligan, and Gage and Crystal Juneau; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Gabe and Gracie Chisum; three sisters, Theresa Dauzat, Myrtis Milligan, and Diane Harris; and one brother, Alfred Milligan.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
