Barbara Rozas Reid, age 84, retired Avoyelles Parish high school teacher
Memorial services for Barbara Rozas Reid will be held at
5:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2012, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in
Cottonport. A brief memorial reception will be held immediately after in St.
Mary’s Community Center.
Mrs. Reid, age 84, of Longbridge, passed away at her home Saturday, March 17.
She was retired from Avoyelles Parish School Board as a high school teacher and
lunchroom supervisor. She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Assumption
Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius LaFonn Reid. She is
survived by 3 daughters: Katherine Finstad and husband Gary of Highlands Ranch,
Colorado; Monica Sprinkle of Cottonport; and Toni Stevens and husband TJ of
Plain City, Ohio; one son, Maxwell Reid and wife Sheila Sanders of Marksville;
two sisters: Joan Thevenot and Alice Ducote of Cottonport; two brothers: Paul
Rozas of Baton Rouge and Kenneth Rozas of Winter Park, Colorado. She also
leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society in
her memory.
