A Mass of Christian Burial for Moore Louis Gauthier will be Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Fr. Chad Partain officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Gauthier, age 82, of the Bayhills, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011 at Cornerstone South Nursing Facility, Lafayette. He a retired Loan Officer with Production Credit Association for twenty-five years and the Cottonport Bank for ten years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0126 and the Knights of Columbus, Hessmer Council. His hobbies included hunting, boat building and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna May Ducote Gauthier, his parents, Felician and Marie Louise Ducote Gauthier, and two brothers, Wade Gauthier and Eli Gauthier.

Survivors include a son, Michael Gauthier and wife, Ann, of New Orleans; one daughter, Joi Cangelosi and husband, Kenneth, of Lafayette and four grandchildren, Jaimie Cangelosi, Keith Cangelosi, Jacob Gauthier and Daniel Gauthier.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Cangelosi, Keith Cangelosi, Daniel Gauthier, Jerry Gauthier, Tony Gauthier and Wesley Gauthier.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 from 5 pm - 8 pm with a Vigil for the Deceased at 6:30 pm and on Thursday from 8 am - 9:30 am.
