A Mass of Christian Burial for Linden Joseph Gaspard, age 80, of Cottonport, LA. will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at The Church Of The Little Flower in Evergreen, LA. with Father Ibe and Dan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Assumption Cemetery No. 1 in Cottonport, LA. Mr. Gaspard passed away in his residence on Saturday August 7, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. Linden J. Gaspard also known as "Bobby" farmed for a living and in his 21 years of retirement spent most of his days in his garden and visiting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter He is survived by: his wife of 61 years Dorothy Bordelon Gaspard of Cottonport, LA.; four daughters Christine Gaspard Rabalais and husband,Steve, Mona Gaspard Armand and husband,Neil, and Pauline Gaspard Armand all of Cottonport, and Paula Gaspard Armand and husband,Ted, of Lafayette; two sons, Michael Gaspard, Sr. and wife,Carol Marcel, of Baker, LA. and Daniel Gaspard and wife,Cynthia Guillory, of Baton Rouge; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 P.M.until 10 P.M. on Monday August 9, 2010 and again on Tuesday August 10, 2010 from 9 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at Melancon Funeral Home in Bunkie, LA. Pallbearers will be Ashley Rabalais, Jason Rabalais, Michael Gaspard, Jr., Nicholas Gaspard, Clinton Armand, Walker Rabalais, Dylan Bourke and Blake Armand. Cross bearer will be Blayne McWilliams.
