Lawrence Ellis Mayeaux

Lawrence Ellis MayeauxA Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence Ellis Mayeaux, Sr. will be at 12 noon, Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Church of the Little Flower with Fr. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial will be in the Church of the Little Flower Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Mayeaux, age 72, of Evergreen, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 in his residence. He retired from the LA State Police after 21 years as a State Trooper. He was a US Army veteran, having served in the Military Police during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velton and Essie Cazalot Mayeaux and his son, Mark Scott Mayeaux.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Lottie Reynolds Mayeaux of Evergreen; one son, Lawrence E. "Pete" Mayeaux and wife, Agatha, of Evergreen; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Mayeaux Lemoine and husband, Billy, of Evergreen and Sheila Mayeaux Kight and husband, Blake, of Dickson, TN; one brother, Myron Mayeaux and wife, Linda, of Bridge City, TX; five grandchildren, Joshua Nugent, Holly Mayeaux, Adrienne Mayeaux, Mark Scott Mayeaux and Garrett Kight and one great grandchild, Ethan Jude Mayeaux; a special cousin, Narcille Stone of Picayune, MS; sisters-in-law, Sally Bruno of Lafayeete and Laurette Reynolds of Hessmer; brother-in-law, Wayne Reynolds and wife, Linda, of Hessmer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 from 4 pm - 10 pm with a Vigil for the Deceased at 7 pm and on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 from 8 am - 11:30 am.
