Joseph Jenkins
Brother Joseph Jenkins was
born December 13, 1948 to the late Mr. Ike Jenkins, Sr. and Mrs. Olla
Washington Jenkins in Evergreen. He was baptized at an early age at Golden Chain Baptist Church.
He was called home on August 1, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Olla Mae Fields and Ora Dean Carter;
and three brothers, Osten Jenkins, Johnny Jenkins and Frank Jenkins.
He was united in holy matrimony to Geraldine Sampson Jenkins for 38 years. He
leaves to mourn his loving wife, Geraldine Jenkins; two daughters, Shalonda
Sampson and Stacey Jenkins (Travis Williams) both of Alexandria; three
grandchildren, Travoris Jenkins, Tatiana Williams and Tamia Williams; three
brothers, Isreal Jenkins, Sharon Hess both of Cottonport and James Jenkins
(Charlotte) of Mansura; six sisters, Ophelia Jenkins, Jeanette Fields both of
Cottonport, Carolyn Heggar (Keneth) of Moreauville, Sally Shuler (Henry),
Bonnie Sampson (Frankie) both of Houston, Texas and Cathy Ford of Shreveport; a
host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation at Greater St. Lawrence on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8
p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Golden Chain Baptist Church in Cottonport.
