Janet Lemoine Hollinshead, 88 of Bunkie

Funeral services for Janet Lemoine Hollinshead will be at 2 pm, Sunday, May 30, 2010 in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie with Rev. Mark Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Bayou Rouge Cemetery, Evergreen under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Janet L. Hollinshead left this earth in peace on Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was a native of Avoyelles Parish and lived most of her life in Houma, where she raised her family. She loved flowers, reading and sewing. She loved making aprons and donating them to hospitals and social organizations.

She was preceded in by her devoted husband, John A. Hollinshead; her parents, Louis H. and Adine Tassin lemoine; two brothers, Louis H. lemoine and Levy P. Lemoine and two sisters, Noemie L. Boniol and Eloise L. Mayeaux.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan H. Hamilton and husband, Harvie, of Houma, LA; John A. Hollinshead and wife, Leah, of Boerne, TX and George A. Hollinshead and wife, Hope, of Evergreen LA; seven grandchildren, Doug Hamilton, Rob Hamilton, Jason Hollinshead, Janet Hollinshead, Megan Hollinshead, Sean Hollinshead and Brooke Beauclaire and four great grandchildren, Michael and Laura Hamilton and Logan and Riley Hamilton. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank her devoted sitters and the staff of the Baily House and Hospice Care of Avoyelles.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie from 5 pm - 8 pm Saturday, May 29, 2010 and 11 am - 1:45 pm on Sunday, May 30, 2010.
