Helen Gullett Howard, 79, Evergreen

Funeral services for Helen Howard will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Dr. Jimmy Brossette officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrow Baptist Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Howard, age 79, of Evergreen, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at her residence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Walter Howard, Jr.; daughter, Katherine Howard; and her parents, David C. and Helen Basey Gullett.

Survivors include four sons, Donald Howard and his wife Nancy of Bunkie, Ronald Howard and his wife Cynthia of Goudeau, Kenneth Howard and his wife Kellie of Goudeau, and William "Bill" Howard of Goudeau; two daughters, Peggy Deaton and her husband Stephen of Lakeland, Tennessee, and Billie Marcotte and her husband Joseph of Big Cane; one brother, Marshall Gullett of Norwalk, California; two sisters, Jane Poole of Cheneyville and Margaret Waddell of Birmingham, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Catherine Soileau Page, Jessica Soileau Talamo, Jaclyn Soileau, Jacintha Howard, Hannah Howard, Bryant Marcotte, Lauren Marcotte, and Brittany Ryder; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Page, Aaron Page, and Nalon Soileau.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
