Grace M. Guillory Carpenter
1925 - 2011
Grace Mary Carpenter, 85, of Labadieville, LA entered into rest, Thursday,
August 25, 2011 from a healthcare facility.
Mrs. Carpenter was born and raised in Plaucheville, LA and was a graduate of Evergreen High School. She lived in Goudeau, Labadieville and most of her adult life in Lake Charles. She retired a real estate agent, having worked for Holly Heard and Mike
Bono, Century 21. Mrs. Carpenter was a devoted catholic, a member of Our Lady
Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Kevin P. Carpenter and wife Mary
(daughter-in-law, friend and care taker) of Labadieville; two grandchildren,
John and Mark and beloved dog, Dukie. She also leaves one sister, Marie Downs
of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pervis E. Carpenter; parents,
Benedict and Helen Gaspard Guillory and one brother, Cournist Guillory.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, August 29, 2011 in Our Lady Queen
of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father
John Huckaby will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home. A rosary
will be recited at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to E.D. White Catholic High School, Academic Enhancement Department, 555 Cardinal Drive, Thibodaux, LA 70301.
