Charles Andrew O'Brien, Jr.

(August 15, 1924 - April 24, 1979)

 

Charles Andrew O'Brien, Jr., 54, of Evergreen died on April 24, 1979 in the Community Hospital in Freeport, Texas. He was a retired farmer and dairyman and was a 1941 graduate of Evergreen High School.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 1979 at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Church in Evergreen. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of  Hixon Brothers Funeral Home of Bunkie.

 

Suvivors include his wife, Vera Poole O'Brien, four sons, Charles A. O'Brien III of Baton Rouge, William J., and Richard F., and John M. O'Brien  of Evergreen and one daughter, Martha Mirian O'Brien of Evergreen ; one brother, Thomas  Borue O'Brien of Midland, Texas ; two sisters, Georgia O'Brien McCormick of Baton Rouge and Mary Virginia O'Brien Webb of Beltsville, Maryland; stepson, Ron Daly of Houston and step-daughters, Brenda Hackeborn of Conroe, Texas and Cathy Baker of Baton Rouge and four grandchildren.

 

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Andrew O'Brien, Sr. and Alice Marshall

Heard O'Brien of Evergreen and his first wife, Miriam Frank Jordan O'Brien.

 

The family has requested memorials to the Bunkie General Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital in Houston or the Heart Fund.
